For 2006, I made some simple treat bags with brown paper lunch sacks and some homemade labels.  I didn't take any pictures of the process for those bags, but decided to make the same style bags for 2007, and this time remembered pictures.

I started by making some basic design for the labels with Microsoft Publisher using word art and a border type dingbat font and saved it as a .jpg, then copied and pasted it until I had 6 of them on one page.

Then I printed them out.  In 2007, I printed out 35 pages.

Then I crumpled the pages up!  This gives them a nice old look.

Then I flattened them out.

I decided to go with a more "imperfect" label for 2007, so I tore the edges off the whole page.

Then I tore the individual labels apart.

I brewed up some tea and slid the labels in.

And let them soak for about 10 minutes.

I laid them out on a towel to dry.  I figured doing this on top of the clothes dryer while I was drying some clothes would help them dry faster, not to mention keep me from forgetting to finish the laundry.

I put the label face down on an old plate and brushed the glue onto the back of the label.  Then I stuck the label onto the bag.

Finally, I filled the bags with some candy and stuff, then tied each bag off with some twine or raffia.  Pictured right are 2006's treat bags.  I made up about 160 of them, 30 for the party and the rest for ToTs.
